Glad to hear of the interest in the Sikorsky S-43 “Baby Clipper” flying boat. It is a subject aircraft rarely seen in models. I was able to obtain an accurate 3-view “General Arrangement” drawing through the Museum's Archive Division. It is a copy of an original Sikorsky Aircraft drawing #DI0DL38 rendered in 1/40 scale, which shows all exterior dimensions (but not a lot of detail) for the S-43 / JRS-1. Unfortunately, duplication services in our Archives Division are temporary suspended while they move to the Udvar-Hazy Center, but you can contact them here http://www.nasm.si.edu/research/arch/. We also found good photographic records at the National Archives in College Park, MD and the Navy Yard Archives in D.C. This could help with exterior detailing, color selection and unit markings for the model.

Thank you for sharing the details of your most interesting journey of the Sikorsky JRS-1. The National Air and Space Museum is certainly doing a wonderful job of preparing the artifacts to be saved for our future generations to enjoy!
