Nice article. I strongly recommend Craig Lloyd’s definitive biography of Bullard, EUGENE BULLARD: BLACK EXPATRIATE IN JAZZ-AGE PARIS. I’ve written a full-length play based quite accurately on Bullard’s life, a biographical comedy basically titled GENE BULLARD, C’EST MOI!. Its 46 characters are played by ten actors. At its initial staged reading in NYC we had five members of the Tuskeegee Airmen present, elderly gentlemen, some wearing their medals. Like the play, they also received a standing ovation. And to think that Eugene Bullard flew 25 years before they did! There will be a new staged reading of my play in NYC on June 20, 2011, in the theater of the SS Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. All are welcomed, and entry is free.

Spent the last five years researching and writing a 370 page book on the life of Eugene Jacques Bullard. Hope it will be published in 2011. It is composed of imaginary conversations and flashbacks detailing his “adventures.”
A fantastic, inccredible unrecognized life of a hero.
