I know for a fact it was not the KB-50 because it didn’t make it’s first flight until 1955.

And the wingtip-escort idea for long-range bombers was tested, but it was never used operationally.

I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall that most of the air-to-air refueling ops in the Korean War were by KB-50 tankers. Am I correct in this?
