I’m doing this for a school research paper. When i choose Charles Lindbergh i knew almost nothing about him, but this has really help me a lot. Also because of this i want to do more research and actually try on this paper.

Since you list in your admirable compilation Stanley Shapiro’s article, “The Celebrity of Charles Lindbergh,” which I commented upon at his request before it was published in Air Power History (Spring 2009), you could have noted my article, “The Making of a Hero: What Really Happened after Lindbergh Landed at Le Bourget,” which also appeared in Air Power History (Summer 2002). The article later appeared in an anthology, Today’s Best Military Writing, edited by Walter J.Boyne.

Thomas Kessner liked it so much that he based practically an entire chapter on it in his book, “The Flight of the Century.” Just for fun, check his footnotes for Chapter 6,
“Vive Lindberg! Vive l’Americain”

Very interesting/good article — I hadn’t known much of Lindbergh before reading this and agree with the author’s assertion that he would certainly have fared differently in today’s spotlight. Nowadays, the press puts celebrity exploits onto an endless news reel whereas they used to have looked the other way.
