Hi Amelia,

I don't remember the exact square footage off the top of my head, but it is roomy. The individual sleep stations are about the size of a one person tent, but with nice high ceilings and storage locker. There is enough room in the center aisle of the LER to stand straight up without hitting your head on the ceiling (I'm 6'1"). There is enough room for privacy even when we had 4 crew in there during the rescue mission. Not bad for what looks to be a small space. The great thing about the LER is that we can get outside through the suit ports.

cheers,
Brent

Axel,

We had "real space food" and camping food to eat during the 14 days. The real space food is stuff that is flown on the shuttle/ISS and was normally snacks and side dishes that didn't need to be rehydrated. These were hit or miss. I liked the tapioca pudding, applesauce, and BBQ Beef Briscuit, but was not a fan of the turkey or salmon. The camping food was delicious. My favorites were the lasagna and the chicken teriyaki. The great thing about having been in college/graduate school for so long is that I am used to semi-bland, instant food, so I felt right at home. The key thing with food in space is you want it to be 'dry', the 'wet' foods are heavy. Fresh foods won't last long, besides I just want calories so I can explore, I'll eat the steak and lobster when I get home.

Cheers,
Brent

Cool post! I understand the "RV" is about 350 square feet inside? That doesn't sound too terrible, actually. It's bigger than my tent, but I've never spent 10 consecutive days inside it. . .
