This is really awesome! Today at the Alan Bean exhibit opening, I had the great pleasure to meet Mel Rosenberg (spelling) who was the engineering lead for the LEM-5. He was bringing engineering documents for the curators to use as they worked this project if they wanted them. He promptly jumped in to work at the lead curator for restoration's request, and assisted the technicians with their wrapping of the LEM legs, solving a complex problem with them. I happily served as unofficial photographer for Mel and the technicians documenting the exchange. Fascinating watching two different generations share technical challenges and solutions to meet a common goal! Oh, and the exhibit and meeting a great artist such as Alan Bean wasn't exactly a small thrill either. Wow! What a really really great day to be at the museum!
